Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for 2019

My List of Ten Suggestions for Valentine's Day

Let’s face it - Valentine’s Day is a kind of a weird gifting holiday. You’re supposed to get something for the special lady in your life, but what? There are no Christmas lists or birthday wishes to lean on, this is all on you.

Never fear, I’m here to help.

Here is a list of 10 great Valentine’s Day Gifts in 2019

  1. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color - $3.97 I discovered these just last year and they’ve been a life-saver. With little kiddos, I do my nails at home unless it’s a special occasion. It’s been challenging as my previous nail polish would never dry fast enough. With this one, I can actually get them painted without smearing it when the kids need me, which is usually when I am trying to get something done or definitely when I just painted my nails. Be sure to buy the extra strong nail polish remover packets as these don’t come off as cleanly as the regular polish.
  2. Very Irresistible Givenchy Eau de Toillette - $69.99 for 2.5 oz. I’ve received so many compliments over the years when wearing this perfume. It is a little flowery, but not too sweet, it has a pop to it, but it’s not overpowering. Also, the scent differs depending on the skin of the wearer in a pleasant sort of way.
  3. Dryden Luxury Fountain Pen - $25.95 Does she have a notebook or a journal? If so, this is an excellent fountain pen that takes writing from a task to an experience. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see how sleek, yet firm it is. Don’t forget the ink as it doesn’t come together.
  4. Alise European Clasp Wallet or the Alise Zip Around Wallet - $145 Of course these are high on my list, that’s why I made them! The European wallet is slightly larger size with four more total card slots, but many women like the security of a zipper. Both are made of Italian leather. I personally have the Zip Around wallet in golden smooth leather. It’s starting to break in and shows just a bit of weathering - but that’s the beauty of it. It only gets better in time and you can leave your own mark on it. An Alise wallet is a great gift, it’s not too big, and still handmade in Italy with heart. It’s not overpowering, which you don’t want to do on Valentine’s day (save that for her birthday) and she can use it daily and be reminded of your thoughtfulness.
  5. Lush Massage Bars - $10-$16 they have a variety of fragrances and textures, but they’re practical. I appreciate the minimalist packaging but you can also purchase a reusable tin to store it in.
  6. Teavana Tea is a great gift if you want to skip chocolate and sugar (is her New Year’s resolution still going strong?), but you still want to get her something to eat or drink. I’ve only had their herbal teas, traditionally not as strong or flavorful as their greens and blacks, and they were still some of the best teas I’ve tried. I recommend a retail location to smell and sample each tea before buying, you can find them in most shopping malls or cities.
  7. Another Lush favorite: the KARMA Body Lotion - $29.95 This has a spicy, citrusy fragrance and a soft feel that absorbs well. I like the smell of it and when I wear it I ditch the perfume. It’s strong enough to provide a nice scent, but it’s not overpowering.
  8. Lancome Definicils -  $27.50 I’ve been wearing this mascara since high school. For a long time, I really appreciated how long and supple it would make my eyelashes look. However, in the recent years I discovered I no longer tolerate most other mascaras, they make my eyes water and get itchy - but not this one!
  9. The Classic Cross-Body Bag - $125 Wanna leave an impression? Wanna make a memory? This is an item you can’t go wrong with. Any woman, young or old, mom or not, can use such a practical, daily bag. It can hold exactly what you want to carry day-to-day: your wallet, keys, phone, some makeup, tissues. Whether you’re running errands, going out with the girls, or better yet getting away for a romantic dinner, this small but functional cross-body bag has you covered! I’ve been using the one in Caramel, but you can go dressy by getting the one in Black.
  10. My Pillow - $49.99 If you’ve seen the ads you know the creator is...interesting. But if you’re more practical than romantic, a good pillow will go a long way. I’ve had this pillow for over three years now. While I’m not sure about every claim they make, I will attest it is more comfortable than most pillows I’ve used. I like it because it is not too bulky and you can mold it how you like. You can make it more flat or puffier. It’s also easy to wash without losing its shape.
